FALL IS THE PERFECT SEASON FOR PLANTING PALM TREES!
The Pindo Palm is the hardiest feather-leaf palm currently in cultivation. It is used as a specimen palm, and instantly makes a stunning impact in the landscape by its striking blue-green feather-leaf appearance. The Pindo Palms performance is best above USDA Hardiness Zone 10B, and is hardy into the Carolinas. The Pindo Palms arching, blue-green fronds "leaves" are crowded with many upward pointing leaflets that form a pronounced V-shape. The Pindo Palms are considerably variable in nature, the form differing in ultimate height, trunk thickness, leaf color and amount of arching, and fruit color and taste. The best quality pindo fruits are sweet with a flavor some find reminiscent of a pineapple/banana mixture, and makes a tasty jelly.
